Adult Education
Adults at Church of the Good Shepherd are persons 18 and beyond. Single, married, divorced, widowed all are welcome and encouraged to participate in the various study opportunities that are planned to serve you.
In Education we focus much of our planning toward small group studies like Sunday school, Disciple Bible Series, book studies, Seasonal activities during Advent (the four weeks right before Christmas) and Lent (the six week before Easter), We sometimes have guest lecturers who come to present information about historical figures who have been Champions of the Faith, and discussion forums on Social Justice Issues and even homelessness in our area.
While much of our focus is educational, we desire to develop more social (sometimes called fellowship) opportunities for adults and invite you to make suggestions as to what may be of particular interest to you. Please check out the Outreach pages of this website for a more comprehensive look at the service opportunities that we have here at The Church of the Good Shepherd and under the Fellowship heading you will find information about gatherings that serve a more social function.
We invite you to join in where and when you are able. For more information please contact Penny Rasnake, Director of Lay Ministries by calling 703-281-3987 x 13 or by email prasnake@goodshepherdva.com.
