Soup, Song & Story (during Lent)
Soup Song and Story is a program that offers a chance for families to come together to observe a simple meal of homemade soups and bread with the enhanced benefit of sharing together in a time of worship through music and testimony.New for 2010! Soup Song and Story will be held on the following Sunday evenings of Lent: February 21, February 28, March 7, March 14, and March 21. and will meet from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall in conjunction with our Sunday Evening Adult Series. This year we are blessed to have our very own Maggie Ulmer, Education and Outreach Director for The Hub Theatre join us and lead a mini Storytelling Workshop on the first evening. She will give us practical guidelines and exercises that will help us all learn to communicate our personal faith stories. Come and take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to learn from each other.
The whole family is invited. There are activities provided for the children. Families are encouraged to bring their favorite homemade soup, or simple sandwiches like peanut butter and jelly or cheese and bread for the kids, and share together in this special time of community. Every evening includes at least one group song, sometime special music is presented, and then we hear a presentation from an individual; a mission team or project; a local outreach like Food for Others; we have even had local artists come and share about how God uses their gifts in ministries aroung the world.
We hope you will join us.
