World Vision

World Vision is a Christian humanitarian organization working with families and communities worldwide to reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice.

How we participate:

1.   Each year our youth participate in the 30 Hour Famine, raising money and awareness about the issue of hunger.
2.   The Famine Event is held during the month of February and runs from 12 pm Friday through 6pm Saturday. The youth typically gather at the church for an overnight lock-in where they learn about the issues surrounding hunger in the world, enjoy fun instructional games, watch movies, participate in bible studies and work together in teams to shop for food enough to feed a group with limited resources.  The youth always walk away with a new perspective on what it means to be hungry.  We break the fast by having a closing service and communion together before enjoying a meal with our families which the participants prepare.
