MEMBERS IN MISSION
Church of the Good Shepherd member, Bob Meredith, is now serving as a United Methodist Volunteer-in-Mission with the Agua Viva Serves project near Los Chiles, Costa Rica., where he will be for the next three months. Agua Viva Serves’ focus is to provide potable drinking water to schools, churches and the rural population—many who are very poor—in an isolated region near the Nicaraguan border. Begun in 2010, the project has now drilled over 25 wells in the area, with several more planned over the coming months. Bob is going to help as needed with the project—he speaks Spanish and has worked on similar projects in other developing countries. More information, maps and photographs may be found on the Agua Viva Serves website. If you wish to make a donation, Bob recommends you do so through this web site or through the United Methodist Church’s Board of Global Ministries’ Volunteers-in-Mission web page. His project number is #982465.
Also, Bob is maintaining a blog of his activity as a volunteer-in-mission. You can now follow Bob's work at http://bobavsincr.wordpress.com.
