The Struggle for Perseverance

TODAY: Put this on the lid of your “tool box.” Every morning you are handed 24 golden hours. They are one of the few things in the world that you get free of charge. If you had all the money in the world, you couldn’t buy an extra hour. What will you do with this priceless treasure? Remember, you must use it, as it is only given once. Once wasted, you cannot give it back.

What is your first reaction to problems that pop up in your life? If you are like most of us, we immediately get the “tool box” out and attempt to fix the problem ourselves. Too often, we forget that we cannot fix problems without some “heavenly” help. We struggle with answers and get frustrated that we cannot solve them quickly, on our timetable or in our manner. When it finally dawns on us that our resolutions are not working, we then turn to God for answers.

When I find myself in that mode, I have a visual image of God and Christ telling me with loving kindness (and a giant 2 x 4): “If only you would have asked for wisdom, my child.”
We tend to forget that trials and challenges in our life test our faith, and that with the right perseverance, prayers and a strong faith journey, we mature and become complete with wisdom to overcome ALL trials that we will face on this celestial ball. There should be no doubt that when we are thrown a curve ball in our lives, we should immediately ask for wisdom and center our heart and soul to totally trust in Christ’s answer — even if it is an answer we are not expecting.

Christ provides awesome answers! And, when we have a total personal relationship with him, we have direct lines to him to help us with any matter that may arise. We just need to remember to seek HIM first in prayer, before getting out the “tool box.”
