Trust in the Lord
This wise saying captures the essence of my growing trust in our Living Savior, particularly in decision-making on behalf of my 89-year-old parents over a six-month period. I sensed the urgency of bringing my folks here after making frequent visits to their home in Florida. Having mild forms of dementia, they were oblivious to the hazards of living alone. Their willingness to visit, their acceptance to remain, the availability of a ground-level condo to rent for the three of us and the sale of my townhouse all reinforced my trust in the Lords guidance. Dads earthly mind and body failed rapidly after some falls, subsequent cranial bleeding and unrelated colon surgery. It was painful to watch. But in a hospital bed, Dad reported seeing angels smiling at him, and I witnessed his release of pain and discomfort as he took his final earthly breath and went on to his real home. Dad and Mom did have six weeks together at Sunrise of Reston when I could no longer care for him. Now, Mom thanks me for having chosen such a nice home for her there. She loves the food and eagerly joins in most scheduled activities. I found and bought a nearby condo. And this church family prayed, hugged, wrote, visited and fed us through it all. God is good and worthy to be praised! |
