GIVING TO THE NEEDY

TODAY: Do your part to help the hungry. Plan to help with the Second Annual Great Potato Drop on Saturday, March 12 when The Society of St. Andrew will drop thousands of potatoes in the Good Shepherd parking lot to bag. Bring a friend. Remember the words of Edward E. Hale: “I am only one, but still I am one; I cannot do everything, but still I can do something; and because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do the something that I can do.”

As Christians, we are to serve Christ and care for those who have little. Jesus gave of Himself to all people, and we should follow after Him, giving to the poor people and lifting them up. We have so much food to be thankful for, but why does the least fortunate child go to bed hungry? Jesus said, “You have the poor with you always, but Me you do not have always.” He meant that we are to take care of those in this world who need the most help. So let’s reach out to the poor and help all we can.
