THANK YOU, LORD
My God has a sense of humor. Does yours? The prayer that I say most often is: “Thank you, Lord, for Thou art kind and good – with a great sense of humor.” Maybe not one of the great prayers of all times, but it seems to fit when you lose something on the floor and find it quicker than you could possibly expect to. Or when a serendipitous situation surprises you although you really have no right for it to occur. Or when the solution to a puzzler suddenly appears. I continue to be amazed at the number of times the most appropriate comment is the simple “Thank you, Lord.” If you’re like me and frequently put a “twist” in what you say, add “for Thou art kind and good, with a great sense of humor.” I sometimes add another line – citing someone who could use some humor and, maybe, some tolerance, in their life.
