Read: John 3:16

I NEED JESUS

TODAY: Break the routine. Do something unexpected. Visit a library. Walk in a park. Call an old friend. Try something you’ve never done before. Then give thanks.

Today at work I was asked what my religious beliefs are. That question weighed heavily on my mind all day.

As a child I went to church and I learned the basics. I can still recite the songs I learned in Sunday school. John 3:16 is forever tattooed in my memory. When I was younger I didn’t understand what having a relationship with GOD was. I mean, how do you have a relationship with someone you can’t see? When I was a child, I believed in GOD because I was taught to believe.

Today things are different. I believe because I choose to believe. I have to know that I am not alone in this world. I came to believe after years of pain and suffering. I became a mother at 16, I’ve been homeless and hungry, I’ve gone without and I know what it feels like to be alone. I have felt pain in ways that no man, woman or child ever should!

I believe in GOD because every time I hit bottom, GOD reached down and picked me up again.

The real truth is that I didn’t choose to believe in GOD, HE chose to believe in ME!

GOD literally knocked on my door! When I thought there was no hope, He saved me.

Time and time again things have happened in my life that left no room for doubt. Sometimes it was gradual, and I had to have time to reflect on the situation. Many times I knew instantly, and it was a lifechanging experience. GOD has touched my life in ways I cannot easily put into words.

This booklet will be read by many people. Like you, I am overworked and over-stressed. I don’t read my Bible nearly as often as I should. I get lost entirely too easily in the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

The world can be a cold and nasty place at times, and at the end of the day, we feel as if we haven’t done enough or that we just aren’t good enough. When it’s all too much, I close my eyes and hold out my hand and GOD is always there without fail.

Life is scary! I need Jesus!
