JULY 2008 Highlights

Generally, the pace slows down in summertime, but there is still plenty going on in the life of our church. This month, we welcome new pastor Mark Burgess who will preach his first sermon at Good Shepherd on July 6. Our congregation will have the opportunity to formally welcome Mark and his wife Ruth on July 13. You’ll also find an exciting array of fun family activities on page 2.

Opportunities for service this month include volunteering at Vacation Bible School (VBS) and helping to prepare or deliver meals for FACETS and the Bethany Women’s Center.

Just a reminder – our summer worship schedule, featuring a single service at 10 a.m. on Sundays, continues through August 31. Nursery care is available.

Let’s keep all the kids, teachers and other volunteers in our prayers during VBS, July 21-25. Also remember to lift up the Lakota Mission Team, which travels to the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation on July 4.

Have a safe and happy Fourth of July.

Until next month, blessings to all.
